Maya Student Edition 2010 – Look At What Software Comes With It!
The Maya 3d software from Autodesk is without doubt the leader in the visual effects and animation industries, and has become pretty much the standard software tool used at most companies.
As such the demand for quality Maya training and easy access to the software for students has become of ever greater concern in recent years.
2010 is no different…so what does Autodesk have in store for folks looking to buy the Maya student edition this year?
The latest student edition of the Maya 3D software from Autodesk is being bundled with a load of other high-end pieces of software in the newly-named “Autodesk Education Suite for Entertainment Creation 2010”…
…bit of a mouthful I know! But listen to what other Autodesk software they’re including in this bundle:
- Maya 2010 Student Edition (Full Unlimited Version)
- 3d Studio Max 2010 Student Edition
- Softimage 2010 Student Edition
- Motionbuilder 2010 Student Edition
- Mudbox 2010 Student Edition
- Sketchbook Pro 2010 Student Edition
This is pretty amazing since they’re also lowering the price compared to last year’s edition which didn’t include Max and Softimage (that edition was called the Maya Student Superpack).
How Much Does It Cost?
It’s around $150 (under £100 GBP) for a 13-month license and $350 (a little over £200GBP) for a perpetual license.
The cheapest place I’ve found on the net for it is here ==> Maya Student Edition 2010
(they’ve been in business over 20 years so they’re a solid company)
To be honest, this is really stonking value and I’m glad Autodesk have finally decided to start delivering some serious value to students and making the Maya student edition and other 3d packages as accessible as possible.
With so much software piracy going on this is a sensible step in my point of view.
As usual, the standard restrictions apply to the non-commercial use of student software.
